Glorine is the daughter of Samson Martin Japaljarri, one of the founding members of Warlukurlangu Artists, and Uni Martin Nampijinpa, also a renowned artist. She is the older sister of Andrea Martin Nungarrayi a renowned artists of Warlukurlangu. Glorine grew up at Wakurlpa Outstation, north-west of Yuendumu.
