The rhombe (Wyneece) was certainly introduced to the Torres Strait Islands by Aborigines living in Cape York, at the tip of Queensland.
The handle of the instrument was waved in a circular motion, creating a dull sound that undulated depending on the speed at which the instrument was spun.
Dennis used the “Tusche” technique to give the instrument an antique look.
Tusche: a greasy ink generally used by engravers. Dennis adapted this technique by using it on engraving plates.
