A member of the Yuendumu community, the artist here celebrates Purturlu, a site for which she holds custodial responsibility. Women of her lineage come to gather Ngalyipi (wild vine), a plant used to braid straps for carrying water containers (Ngami) as well as bags for storing food. On the canvas, Ngalyipi is depicted through vine-shaped motifs.
The story of this Dream, or Jukurrpa, associated with the plant is passed down to young men during initiation ceremonies.
