*Founded in 2009 by Martine Pinard, a graduate of the École du Louvre, the association Détours des Mondes (DDM) aims to promote greater awareness, understanding and appreciation of primitive arts (PA), as well as the cultures and societies that created them. It focuses primarily on Africa and Oceania [1]. It also covers the Americas, including Greenland and the West Indies, and Indonesia [2]. It also takes a global interest in animist societies in Europe and beyond (particularly Asia). The association does not shy away from exploring prehistory, archaeology, modern and contemporary art, at least in order to provide perspective. As the number of cultures concerned is very large, the cultural areas covered by DDM are chosen according to the interests of its members.
