Waru Kazil is based on the concept of survival. This term refers to small turtles and the new generation that is arriving. Dennis Nona wanted to work on the theme of turtles, which seem to have disappeared from the small island of Badu, without anyone really knowing why. Hunting is still practiced excessively and it is becoming difficult to find turtles. Many are now on the mainland where they have survived, but they are becoming scarce on the island. In the engraving, we see them fleeing the island. We must rediscover the old laws in order to try to preserve the turtles. Humans have abused the situation, but our great-grandchildren's generation will see the turtles return.
