In this painting, Aboriginal artist Letisha Marshall depicts a legend linked to the territory of Warlukurlangu, south-west of Yuendumu.
An old Blue Tongue Lizard man lived on a hill with his two sons. He pretended to be blind and sent the two boys to hunt for him. In the meantime, he hunted himself and ate all the meat before his children returned.
One day, they returned with a kangaroo they had killed, but it was sacred. Mad with rage, the old man decided to punish them. One day when they went hunting, he set fire to the bush.
The huge fire that followed them made them run for miles until a flame from the Blue Tongue Lizard's burrow killed them.
