The history of Australia has long been marked by the struggle between Aboriginal people and settlers over the preservation or possession of its vast territories. It is this painful reality that the Anglo-Saxon artist Darren Jones evokes here through a scene featuring an Aboriginal messenger. He advances on a ground adorned with motifs symbolizing his culture (concentric circles from ground paintings, ritual objects). The upper and lower areas of the artwork evoke the characteristic desert landscapes: sacred hills and vast ochre plains beneath a clear blue sky.
