Vivienne Kelly Nakamarra, from Yuendumu in Central Desert, depicts the Dreaming associated with Wapurtali, a mostly dry watercourse containing marshes.
Legend tells that an Ancestor came to Wapurtali and caused a great storm. Two blind elderly women present there looked up at the sky, and tears flowed from their eyes, creating rain. Their spirits are said to remain at the site in the form of two gum trees near the marshes.
