Konstantina is a contemporary Aboriginal artist descended from the Gadigal people. Through her work, she tells the untold story of her people. Her works represent her research and questioning of her roots and identity.

Mari Budbilli is the Gadigal word for a large blanket or coat made from possum skin. The title contains a different name for “possum” (Wali), as it refers to the actual object into which the possum is transformed, namely a blanket or coat made from possum skin. Wali skins were used across much of the east coast to make possum skin cloaks, which were continually enlarged as the wearer grew. They were decorated with insignia burned into the leather side and colorful designs that told stories using ochres and natural pigments.
