Ken Done Loves Pride is part of the Homage to Ken Done series, in which Konstantina reinterprets the colorful and expressive aesthetic of renowned Australian artist Ken Done, in dialogue with contemporary Aboriginal painting traditions.

On this vibrant canvas, bold color palettes blend with a constellation of white dots, evoking dreamlike landscapes inspired by the Dreamtime. Recurring forms and motifs reflect a symbolic reading of the Sydney landscape, the ancestral land of the Gadigal people, to whom the artist belongs. The work explores themes of identity, memory, and the way visual Australian culture is perceived — through a lens that is both deeply personal and politically engaged.

“The motifs in each of my works reference the typography of the landscape. These are paintings meant to be dreamed.”

As part of the 2025 Lions Series, Sky Sports chose to celebrate Australia's cultural diversity through a unique artistic collaboration with Konstantina. This special commission led to a work inspired by the Homage to Ken Done series, in which the artist envisions a lion guided by a pelican, traveling along a sacred songline to Sydney.

By blending contemporary storytelling, ancestral symbolism, and universal values such as unity, respect, and connection to Country, Konstantina asserts the enduring relevance of Aboriginal art today, at the heart of major sporting and cultural narratives.
