Guwak plays an central role in the song lines of the Manggalili and Ritharrngu clans. Guwak travelled from Ritharrngu clan lands and settled at Djarrakpi and established the Manggalili clan there. In bark paintings he is seen sitting on top of the Marawili tree holding the string that connects the clans together.
