Thanks to its unique visual language—its “Glyphs”—GW Bot maps the landscape—not literally, but intuitively—with marks that always stem from personal experience. This vast repertoire of glyph motifs is found in all mediums of her work.
On one level, they evoke branches and twigs and have also been compared to moth markings on eucalyptus trees, but they also refer to more holistic systems of thinking about the environment, including morphic, zoomorphic, and anthropomorphic systems.
Her glyphs operate on multiple levels with allusions and associations to abstract forms in the landscape. Parallels can also be drawn with cosmological markings, mapping the progression of time, seasons, or natural events.
