“This legend was transcribed into the Kala Lagaw Ya language in 1994. It was recounted by my father, the late Leniaso Tipoti, known to the islanders as Argan Besai. This story tells of what happens when you steal something from the blind. In a sense, it is linked to the traditional cultural knowledge of the Maluilgal nation. It has never been translated into English."
