Ngapa Jukurrpa (Water Dreaming) - Pirlinyarnu
Sabrina Robertson Nangala is from Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community 290 km north-west of Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory. She is the daughter of the famous Aboriginal artist Dorothy Napangadi. Since 2005, she has been painting her father's Jukurrpa or Dreaming, stories passed down to her by her father and grandfather before him over thousands of years. These stories relate to her traditional land, Pirlinyarnu (Mt Farewell), its characteristics and the plants and animals that inhabit it.
