Morris was born in the desert circa 1957 and is the eldest son of Yala Yala Gibbs Tjungurrayi and Ningura Napurrula, who are both very well known painters with Papunya Tula Artists. He grew up in Papunya and attended the school before later working on building sites in the community. Morris moved back to Kintore along with his family in 1981. He did his first paintings for Papunya Tula Artists in 1994 and in 1999 contributed to the Kintore men’s painting as part of the Western Desert Dialysis Appeal. He lives in Kintore with his wife Helen Nampitjinpa and their four children.
All paintings by Morris Gibson Tjapaltjarri come exclusively from Papunya Tula Artists Pty Ltd.
