Her father is Dhakawal #1 Gumana who died in 1994. His younger brother Gawirri? Gumana AO has taken the fatherly role and par????cularly as regards art instruction to her and her younger brothers Yinimala and Djimiyapin. She is married to and assists her Marrakulu clan ar????st husband Garawan Wanambi, and lives at her own clan land of Gä?ga?. In 2009 she has started to paint her own works, Dhalwangu clan images of the deeper ocean - Mungurru. She began to innovate from 2012 on. She was the first artist to apply the template or skeleton of the compositon using just a marwat or thin brush made from human hair. Normally this was done with an ordinary brush and then marwat used to fill in cross hatch design. She was also the first artist to use no earth pigments in the ground of the paintng. She ini????ated the practce of applying the paint of the design to bare bark or wood.
